Dr. Liu says I definately, positively have multiple sclerosis…until there is another attack, we won’t know exactly what type but he is presuming Relapsing-remitting. Of course it could be Benign but there are no tests to verify that, only time will tell. My spinal MRI came out clear. 3 out of 4 categories from the spinal tap tested positive… Immunoglobulin G was 11.1, normal is 0/0-8.6; Myelin Basic Protein was 2.3, normal is 0.0-1.0; Protein, Total, CSF was 77.8, normal is 13.0-40.0. There were 3 labs that processed the fluids and all came out positive. He is going to sign me off to go back to work on August 17 which is the Monday after Yaa Halla (The big belly dance convention). Hopefully AA will agree with him!
I have an appointment on August 25 with Dr. Charlece Hughes and Dr. Liu said I should keep that appointment (he knows, likes and respects Dr. Hughes) and then decide who I want as my “regular” neurologist. After that appointment, if I go back to Dr. Liu, he wants to start me on daily injections…yuck.
At this point, I want to hear what Dr. Hughes suggests. Until I have another attack, I don’t really know much. Taking the medications can be even worse than the symptoms they are to help sometimes. In the meantime, I am going to try my best with the Candida Diet and am taking loads of vitamins/supplements. Ken is joining me with the diet, thank goodness…that helps me a lot and, he did worse on the “do you have candida” tests than I did! “The 90 day program to beat candida” by Ann Boroch. This book and author came highly recommended by prestigious doctors (Dr. Marc Pick for one) and nutritionists. Like I said, it can’t hurt…and, I might loose a little weight!
Thinking of you. If you have any questions about some of those injectable medications, feel free to e-mail me.
